Controlling the Decks
We've already had different types of decks written and posted here but this coming June expect to see a lot of control decks on game day. Control, a major archetype in MTG decks since who-knows-when, still has what it takes to win a tournament or two. The right mix of cards control decks are still able to take control of the game.
Permissions are usually the heart and soul of the control decks, although another important component would be board cleaners as well, cards such as Day of Judgement and Martial Coup will send all creatures to their doom. This deck is just an example, a guide on how will you build your own deck. There are thousands of ways to build control decks and a thousand other ways to play them. See you in GP-Manila. Enjoy.

Spreading Seas Deck
Spreading the Red Sea like what Moses did might not be a hard feat after all. With this deck you can easily spread the seas of your opponents to control and disrupt their mana flow. With the current set of lands in standard, it is no surprise that Spreading Seas and Convincing Mirage has the capability to screw your opponent's mana flow.
Decks in the metagame in recent events, consist mainly with a minimum of three colors. Primarily taking advantage of the Shards of Alara "tri-lands" and the "enemy-colored" fetches from Zendikar, which makes a Spreading Seas enchanted on a Savage Lands that disruptive.
This deck basically will try to survive the early turns, play a Cascade card on the fourth and cascade into either the Spreading Seas or Convincing Mirage and hope to start the disruption. From here on the deck will deny you of your multi-colored spells.
Day of Judgement will keep your opponent's creatures in check before and after land disruption, the Cascade cards will get Spreading Seas earlier. Ajani will get you the extra point of life and probably kill a creature or two, not to mention Ajani's ability to disrupt your lands, the new Jace is a pain and is something to watch out for as well, and finally Baneslayer Angel for the win.
This is a fun deck to play with and just like any other deck you have to get out there and play test. Enjoy.

The Vampire Deck
Vampires have not been that dominant in the Shards of Alara - Zendikar standard format but at least one copy of the deck show up in Top 8s in tournaments. If you're considering a deck this coming June for GP Manila, you may want to think about the Vampires.
Vampires certainly has weapons. Bloodghast is pesky, comes back when "Landfalled". Vampire Hexmage can kill Planeswalkers, plus it's First Strike ability, it is something to watch out for in the early turns. Gatekeeper of Malakir can check the board of your opponent when kicked and Vampire Nocturnus is a bomb. A new neat little combo with Grim Discovery and Tectonic Edge, you can even opt for getting that fetch back, certainly an advantage.
With the right choice of sideboard cards and good match-ups Vampires can surely get you past the first day and maybe even get you to the Top 8. Another deck coming soon. Enjoy.
